What is the dose of folic acid used in pregnancy?
The dose of folic acid required during pregnancy is 400 micrograms (mcg) each day.
However, you should consult your doctor if planning to become pregnant after previously having a pregnancy affected by a neural tube defect as you may require a higher dose of folic acid each day.
